54 Capital is an Africa-focused asset manager created in 2013 by Saad Aouad, its current Chief Investment Officer, and Emmanuel Couteau, its current Chief Operating Officer.
From inception, 54 Capital has set itself apart with an agile and adaptive deal-by-deal execution and fundraising strategy. This strategy ensures a better alignment with the interests of each of its investors, as well as provides greater accountability and increased value to all stakeholders. 54 Capital has no pressure to deploy, before the end of a given investment period, a blind pool of capital already committed to a fund. Instead, 54 Capital thrives to only source investments that will best fit its investors’ risk appetite and return expectations.
Today, the team has grown to six investment professionals and three operating partners, spread across offices in London, Dubai and Addis Ababa.
The team now manages six portfolio companies with a total invested equity amount of US $125 million. An additional US $50 million investment, through two transactions, is in process and should be finalised by the end of Q2 2019.
Today, 54 Capital’s investor base is primarily composed of family offices and high-net-worth individuals from Europe, the USA, Asia and the Middle East, as well as institutional investors.
54 Capital is proud to have investors who continue to explore new opportunities with its team, thanks to the successful performance of its portfolio, combined with the rigor and precision of its investment process.
